Start/stop switch

I have 2010 highlander limited and have key less start/stop engine switch or button. When the engine are running and forgot to hit start/stop or shut the engine down, Is the engine will shut by it self or the engine keep running? If somebody jump and try to drive with out the remote, how far it can go? What happen is my wife and my kids went to eat at Cracker barrel when they got back on the car, the car is still running. Duh.

I know, sorry I'm not home to try or check it myself.

I don't know much about them but if the remote is out of range, it doesn't think you are still sitting in the car, I would think no more than a few minutes. I know 2011 Malibu remote start will only run for 5 min, but that isn't the no key push button system these Toyota's have.

That's what I thought too, it will shut off if out of range. Cracker barrel and the parking lot are about 125-150 ft away from each other. They probably took them a good 30 minutes or more before they got back on the car unless when they went inside the restaurant the engine shut down and when they got back to the car, it's start again. This is one of the problem of the highlander for being soooo quiet, you can barely hear the engine running.

One blooper right.
