Valet switch for an alarm? That's what they typically are installed for.

Try turning it off, see what stops working. Could be anything, I have an off/on switch under the dash to power my GPS. Saves running it when I don't need it and keeps the wires and plugins out of sight.

Just did that and everything appears to still be working so who knows, I'll ask the dealer when in for service.

A pic of the switch you're referring to may help.

what humanoid said, pic speaks 1000 words.

Do you have any aftermarket accessories installed that run off a switch or wireharness?

Thanks for the replies. I have a service appointment next and will ask the tech and report back with pictures.

Well, the switch was for a remote start which the previous owner took out before selling
