2012 HL rear heat problems?

I just pruchased a 2012 HL for my wife and it seems the rear heat is not working. Regardless of if we turn the rear heat to Max from the front or rear controls the rear vents only produce luke warm to cool air. Has anyone else had this issue? The controls have so many options I thought I would post here before taking it do the dealer to make sure we don't have something set wrong. The manual was odd as well since it does not address rear heat, just "air conditioning" which may be the new terminology for interior air modification whether its heating or cooling. Thanks for any feedback!

Have you pushed the "Rear" button on the dashboard? I had a similar experience with rear A/C not working until that button was pushed. I think that button enables and disables the rear control panel.

are you checking the correct vent???

the ones under the front seats that aim toward the back are controlled by the front system.

There is a single large vent behind the passenger 2nd row seat (kind on the side wall in front of the wheel well, blows into the 3rd row foot area) that is the rear heat vent (when not forcing the system to send the rear heat to the top vents).

Mine gets VERY warm, but only once the engine is fully warmed up, its lukewarm to cool until them.

Thanks for the information. We had been checking the overhead vents thinking the system should provide heat through all rear vents as indicated on either the front or rear control panels (depending on settings). The vent behind the passenger second row seat does produce hot air but I still think the others should as well. Apparantly that is not how the system is designed. The overhead vents do blow cold air when the A/C is on so apparantly that is the intent of the design.

due to the tightness on space in that back panel area where the rear AC is stuffed, it might be designed that way (heat only to lower vent). I'll look through the toyota docs I have on the rear AC and post if I find anything that confirms or denies that.
