2012 HL In channel vent visors

Has anyone had any problems with the in-channel vent visors/vent shades/rain shields on their Highlander? I have these on my Tundra and have not had any problems but when I went to purchase them for the Highlander the parts guy said they have had alot of problems with them on newer vehicles. I guess the windows may not go up properly due to the safety mechanism detecting added resistance from the reduced space in the door channel created by the vent shade. He said people have had to remove the vent shades to prevent their windows from automatically rolling back down. I really like the in-channel much better than the exterior mount so would prefer these if they have worked ok for others. If I purchase these I am looking at either Weathertech or AVS/Lund. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I have 4 Weather Tech in channel visors installed. Popped them in myself 3 years ago. They work great. Once in a blue moon the auto up will take the window up, and then go 1/2 way down. When that happens I just manually click the up button until it closes snug.
This has only happened to me 3 times. It is no big deal.

Thank you for the information becks. I agree, that doesn't sound like much of an issue to worry about given the benefits of the in-channel design and the better appearance over the exterior mount type. I think I'll give them a try and see how it goes.

Will post updates for other viewers after installed...

Mine are on the outside so wedging too tight is not an issue. I'm not sure this would work but if I had the problem I'd be tempted to sand the part inside the track down a bit to make it thinner to lessen the chance of triggering the window recoil. Thing is, too thin might weaken them.
