Replacement AC Knobs

Does anyone know where (aside from a junk yard) I can find replacement AC Knobs? I've got an 08 Highlander and the AC selector is broken. It was pushed in on accident and the plastic innards were broken. It still works if I push it in I can select the mode, but I would love to get it replaced.

I went to my local parts department and they couldn't help me. They told me they don't sell the knobs separately and that I'd have to buy a whole knew dash portion to solve the problem.

This is for an older Highander, but it they sell those knobs there is a chance Toyota sells ours separately.

The only possibilities for such a proprietary part are salvage yards or a dealer. If the dealer sells it as an assembly, it's likely the salvage yard will too.

Well that sucks. Appreciate the responses though. I'm gonna check out eBay further, and maybe see if there's anything on Craigslist before hitting up a salvage yard. I'm not sure why Toyota wouldn't sell the knobs individually.

Many individual items like that aren't sold very often end up being sold as an assembly. It's just a supply and demand thing. Don't be terribly afraid of hitting up a salvage yard... many are well organized and have computerized inventory.

Go to www.car-part.com and find one that has a vehicle like yours. Look up something big like an engine or transmission since the AC controls are not likely in the search database. Once you find one, call the company and see if they have your part.

Appreciate the link! Also, i understand the supply and demand thing, but then again on something like an easily breakable plastic part that's not permanently ixed to the vehicle or dash one would think that would be sold separate.

You could also contact TOYOPARTSMAN (Gary) who is one of our Supporting Vendors. He gives great discounts on pricing and shipping too. He's worth shooting a PM.
