New in (digital)town

Hi all,

After 177,200 miles (done in 7.5 years), I decided to trade my old Volvo XC 90 and get a brand new 2012 Toyota Highlander

While I enjoy the "new car smell", I'm discovering new things and features. I have a few questions already that I haven't found on the owners manual (yet). So far:

- iPod & Bluetooth. I understand that the iPhone only allows you to pair the phone or to use the bluetooth player (but not both at the same time). Am I right?
- Cargo Cover: I'm OK with the installation (and place where it hides), however, I'm not in love with its design. It seems kinda short and attaching it to the rear seats doesn't seem very practical. Is there any aftermarket replacement that covers everything at once?

Thanks in advance

tato_c, congrats to your new HL. Regarding your question for Phone and Audio, you'll need to configure both to pair with your iphone (with bluetooth turned on) from within the navi unit. You can find setup instructions for both in the 2012 HL Navigation Manual, page 127 (Phone) and 317 (Audio).

I don't have too much opinion on the cargo cover other than it does what it's designed to do; simply covering what you don't want others to see what you have stored.

Hey, tato, welcome to Toyota Nation!

Although I don't have any direct comments for you about the Bluetooth or cargo cover, I would recommend to you on general principles to check out the sticky thread section. It's got tons of links and information in there a new Highlander owner would enjoy perusing through.
