Toyota highlander navigation

Welcome Fellow Highlanders.

I have seen in a previous thread some interest in the Highlander Navigation.

Although, I may agree eBay prices are fairly cheap, eBay can never be fully trusted. However, we do offer an OEM fitment (unit is aftermarket) and OEM look aftermarket navigation unit for competitive pricing.

I agree with the others who have commented on their disappointment with the Toyota NAV system. However I have only had my 2012 Highlander a month so I am going to give myself more time to warm up to it before seriously looking in to replacing it.

But, my wife has a 2002 Limited with the premium JBL 8 speaker package and I'm wondering if there is a plug and play NAV available for that car? Yes it's an oldie, with no steering wheel controls and the in dash 6 disc CD player. I realize a GPS antenna will have to be added as well as a back up camera, if I want to make use of that feature, all of which I have done on a previous vehicle.

If you have anything for my consideration I'm all ears!

Q: Who manufactures these units?
A: All products, unless mentioned otherwise, are manufactured by OTTONAVI.
Q: Are these navigation radio’s OEM?
A: These units are not OEM. They are OE fit and look. Although, they may not be OEM our units hold a competitive advantage over OEM head units.
Q: Is installation difficult? Do you guys do installation? Does it come with installation instructions?
A: We do not do installation. However, installation is not difficult. In most cases, it is as simple as removing your current radio and simply connecting ours to your radio harness. Like many leading competitors Sony or Pioneer, actual installation instructions are not included. The instruction manual you receive is for basic unit settings. If you are not sure, we recommend professional installation.
Q: Are these units plug and play? What if I have special features in my car?
A: OK. All of our units are intended to be a direct plug and play. That means, simply removing your current factory radio and connecting our unit to your factory radio harness. These units are intended to upgrade the BASE MODEL radio of your car. If your car has premium sound this will not be plug and play.
Q: What do you mean premium sound?
A: Premium sound is either if you have JBL, BOSE, Fosgate, Fiber optic, etc. As mentioned above, our units are intended to upgrade base model radios only. If you have premium sound, our units will not be direct plug and play.
Q: Can I watch movies while the car is in motion?
A: If installation is done correct, movies can be viewed while car is in motion.
Q: How does blue-tooth work? Will factory blue-tooth work? Can I stream music via its blue-tooth?
A: Blue-tooth is built in and ready to go. Units come with either an internal or external microphone. Unfortunately, your factory blue-tooth will NOT work. However, our blue-tooth supports A2D allowing you to play music wirelessly from your phone to your radio.
Q: Will steering wheel controls work?
A: Steering wheel controls will work. You need to just configure the settings.
Q: How do I watch TV?
A: You will need a separate digital converter box.
Q: How much is the navigation map?
A: We provide FREE maps of North America for our customers. Maps of other countries such as EUROPE, can be provide based upon request. Small fees may apply for non-NORTH AMERICAN maps.
