2011 2012 HL rear Spoiler Removal?

Has anyone removed the rear spoiler from their 11-12 HL for any reason. I want to install a flashing third brake light (flashes six times and then steady on braking) module and the only access is by removing the spoiler. There are 5-6 large gasketed bolts that go through the glass.

Has anyone ever removed these and what is the repercussions?

You know, I was tempted to try and figure out how to take the spoiler off a while back because I wanted to change out the spray nozzle for one with 3 adjustable nozzles, but found a different way to make it wipe better without doing it. I too saw it as not exactly an easy thing to figure out for fear I might miss a hidden clip or something and brake the spoiler in the process of removing it. In the end I figured the the best way to find out how to do it might be to just stop at the dealership and, in the past, the guys have always been more than willing to call up the diagram of how to take stuff apart and print out a copy. Let us know if you figure it all out.
