is it just me or did Nissan make this concept for the new pathfinder to look a lot like our gen Highlander/Lexus RX350???? similar hood bulges, side view looks very similar, it just seems like they copied our cars haha

kinda of like the Honda "prius", have you guts seen those. they are identical to the 05-09 prius body style. its a obvious rip off, total rip off except the MPG is'nt near prius.
The rear end definetly looks like the HL! I think it's too soft looking. I don't think the Pathfinder or 4Runner should ever look soft. Is it supposed to be any better in the MPG specs with the more aerodynamic design?
evjm: definitly think your right with the pathfinder and 4runner needing to remain trucks (at least toytoa remain loyal to that), but remember Nissan still has the Xterra.....Its suppose to get a new V6 and have 25% increase in fuel economy. So if the current pathfinder is getting 15mpg city 22 highway, probably looking close to highlander levels (18-19 city, probably 25-27 highway).

Interesting....already raised the similarity in a previous thread a couple of months ago, except that it was an Infinity JX Concept. I wonder if they have decided to make this part of the Nissan line, or perhaps the JX is going to be the luxury version of the Pathfinder pictured above.
The JX and pathfinder are probably the same platform(looks like it), reminds me of the HL and RX (since they are the same platform). The HL and pathfinder are more boxy/SUV like, while the RX and JX are more curved and sloped (especially in the back, which I hate, must be a luxury brand thing) version of that. Who knows... supposedly the pathfinder is suppose to go on sale this fall based off the concept, so I bet a lot of these design ques will be in the production model. The JX is suppose to come out this spring, possibly replacing the aging fx.

Looks to me like the Lexus from the front, absolutely a 2nd Gen Highlander from the side, and a Honda Odyssey from the rear. I guess it was bound to happen.

I don't think it looks like the HL much...at least not anymore than the Hyundai Santa Fe looks like the HL. In fact, go to Hyndai's website and look at the front, side, and rear pics of it and compare to the pics of the Pathfinder above. From the front, the back, and even the shape of the side windows to the rear quarter panels, they look like they are being built on the same production line. Are Hyundai and Nissan related?
