Fan speeds up gradually on high

Has anyone noticed that the HVAC fan speeds up gradually to hi speed? Anyone know why that is? Just curious. Thanks

My 2011 SE with manual HVAC does the same thing. When setting the fan to high it takes several seconds to increase the speed.

I assumed that Toyota did this to avoid having women drivers hair getting messed up from a sudden blast of air.

Interesting. My manual HVAC is instantaneous when I change the setting. Doesn't seem like anything operates the same on anyone's HL....

I have a base HL, and when I turn the blower to full blast, it takes a few seconds to rev all the way up. I don't think there is anything wrong with it, it just seems funny to me, compared to what I have owned in the past.

I noticed it once cold weather came; highest fan speed is much slower until the engine comes up to a certain temp. Even then, it seems with the temp setting (manual HVAC) above half way or so it does the slow ramp-up thing. Haven't tested whether it does it with A/C and lower temp settings.
