Turning off the LED light above shifter

I just got a 2012 Highlander SE and there is a LED light that shines onto the shifter and I was wondering if there was a way to adjust the brightness and/or turning it off. Can't seem to find it in the Interior Lights section of manual.

It is always on when the ignition is on. I suggest a piece of tape over the light or a small wad of material packed in the recessed area to block the light if it bothers you...

Be aware that the LED spotlight you're talking about does dim if you use the dim control for the dashboard lights. I always set me dashboard lights to the lowest setting possible, and it's a bummer because since it dims the LED light I'd prefer to have that LED light controlled separately since I use it to read or see things.

BTW, didn't someone describe modding their LED light so that they could control it separately?
