GPS screen always on by default

Hi all ...

Just traded my Prius for a Highland Limited. On the Prius, when I chose and listened to anything audio, the audio screen always was diosplayed on the large display until I turned it off or made another choice. But, on the Highlander, if I chose audio, the audio display appears for a while, but then changes to the GPS screen/map.

Is there a setting somewhere that I need to deal with so the audio screen remains displayed until I am ready to make another choice?

Hope I am making sense and thanks in advance for any input you may have!

Press in the large audio button on the left and the audio controls will be enabled and remain as the main screen then, when you use GPS that will be the primary screen.

PS - welcome & congrats on your new ride!

Tried that ... keeps going back to the GPS screen after perhaps 15-20 seconds.

So it is changing back to the map on its own?!? Sounds like something is wrong with the headunit honestly. What bschurr said about the button to get to the audio menu is how it works. It should stay there on its own once you press the right dial in. It should only go back to GPS if you hit map or input a destination. Since your car is so new, I would take it to the dealer and have them take a look at it.

Press INFO button and then select SCREEN SETTINGS. First item on the menu is auto transition to GPS. Turn that selection off. At least that is how the wifes 2010 works. Drove me nuts until I found out how to turn of that aut transition back to nav screen!!!

Thumbs up First payoff for joining this Forum!!!

Bought a 2012 HL LTD and this was the first thing I noticed was the GPS screen default. It was driving me crazy. Read the manual and found nothing. Could be in there, but so much $%#$% in that manual. Joined this forum, found the answer in 5 minutes. Thanks guys!
