Mud Spots on Backup Camera image

This is driving me nuts!

I have what look like mud spots on the video display of my backup camera. I *think* I've cleaned everythign on the rear hatch that might be the camera location, but the spots remain.

Can anyone tell me where this puppy lives so I can clean it off? My manual doesn't show it.

thanks -

Ivy

It's under the word "Highlander" near the hatch release. It's round, you'll know it when you see it.

Have friend watch the monitor while you wave your hand around close to the latch.. its there and is always getting dirt on it. Wash it gently as you would any camera lense

Once you find it, look at it with a magnifying glass. It's the same with the smartphones, you may not see it, but a tiny scratch on the plastic/glass that covers it and the spot is humongous!

Good Luck

Has anyone tried cutting screen protectors to fit on it? I'm thinking it'd be good to protect from scratches and you could just change it a couple times a year.
