Noob intro and Highlander pricing question

Hi all - new to the forums. Not a current Toyota owner, but FWIW have owned a Sienna in the past.

Question on pricing since I am shopping for a new Highlander.....I assume that if you are able to negotiate a price that is $200 or so under what Truecar says is your best regional price for a specific model/options...this is a good deal?

Truecar seems to provide good data, but interested to see what real world experience is like.

I didn't use Truecar when I bought my 2012 at the end of November. I just went to the Truecar site, put in my location, and the car I bought, with the options I have, and the price quoted was 1400.00 more then I paid for mine with TTL included. I'm not sure if the price that Truecar gives you is TTL included as well or not?

I've never used Truecar so I can't say, but what I can say is to Toyota Nation and to, hopefully, a new Toyota owner....

I got a much better deal than what I saw on TrueCar also. Submit quote requests to several dealers thru the Toyota website, then use the lowest one to leverage with the dealer you want to deal with that has the model/color/options you want.

Thanks for the welcome and the tips. I didn't use the truecar service, only as a general guide. Have been using the "internet e-mail bidding war" for some years now as mentioned above = always successful and a much more enjoyable process. My goal is to never set foot in a dealership until I've already closed the deal.....just to drop off payment/pick-up the car.
