Kudos to Bridgestone Ecopias

I know all of you had issues with the 19 inch oem tires that Toyota put on the 2008 and up highlanders. I had horrible issues with these tire. We went through 2 sets of Bridgestones and they were down right dangerous in the snow and ice. We almost sold the vehicle because my wife was so afraid of driving it. I contacted Bridgestone to see if they would prorate are last set of tires if we bought the new Ecopias. She told me I had to go to a Bridgestone dealer. I did he got ahold of the district rep took 90 deer off of each tire and all I can say are these tires are amazing. The are way quiter then the original ones and are extremely impressive in the snow. Before we would just spin taking off and the anti lock brakes kept coming on every time we tried to stop. I have tested these tires and they grip the snow and ice and stop unbelieveable. The way they handle the road is like night and day. My wife is even totaly impressed and very comfortable with her highlander now. Thank you to Bridgestone for finally making a great and safe tire for all of us. I highly and I mean highly recommend these tires. Just thought you guys might want a real review on these tires. And no we are keeping our 2008 highlander limited.

I've never heard of those bridgestone before, initally the choices for the highlander 19" tires were very limited. Now i noticed there are a few more manufaturers making this size, toyo and bridgestone have increased their offerings.

They are actually the Duler H/L Ecopia 422. You won't find the just under ecopia. Enter model on the bridgestone website to find them.

Bridgestone Turanzas
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....utoModClar=XLE

and

Michelin Primacy
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....utoModClar=XLE

They're both listed as being Low-Rolling Resistance tires

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...n/viewall.html

I like how Toyota sends MotorTrend a TCH with the good Michelin tires and NOT the shitty Bridgestone tires. This is really my only complaint about the car. I am absolutely disgusted with these tires. I assumed that the tires from the factory would automatically be good tires...NOT SO! These Turanzas are the worst effing tire I've ever owned. If I tap the brake in the snow, the ABS kicks on and they hydroplane terribly in heavy rain...I have a brand new set of Michelin Harmony tires on my gf's car and they're amazing!!! I was debating contacting Toyota about this and complaining, but if Bridgestone is the one to call...I may look into contacting them. It really sucks to get a brand new car that should be incredibly capable and having a portion of that experience ruined by shit tires.

I was upset that the car I wanted had the Bridgestones instead of the Michelins, but I fig'd they'd be fine...they're a reputable brand after all...

With our 2006 HL I contacted Toyota directly and they replaced them with the Yokohama's I wanted.

With our 2009 HL I contacted Bridgestone directly and they prorated me 100% towards the cost of whichever Bridgestone tire I wanted which happened to be the Bridgestone Dueler Alenza in 255/55/19.

The sooner the better if you have a brand new vehicle. I contacted them both times within the first 200 miles. I basically told them I experienced what everyone else has, i.e. hydroplaning, etc (although I hadn't ) and that was good enough for them, in addition I promised to sue them and smear their name if my wife was in an accident because their subpar product, it worked

I too would like to know what specific customer service number you called? Guessing you still have to pay for mounting and balance.

Best choice for Bridgestone is Dueler H/L Alenza (Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season) Ecopia EP422 or Turanza Serenity (Grand Touring All-Season) but never go with Dueler H/L 400 (originally installed on my 2012 HL Limited) or 470th. Check tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults then click on Highway All-Season

I had them replaced on mine couple years ago with a bigger siize 245/55-19 Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza (Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season) which are awesome.

This will take some mileage off your trips but the performance is unbeatable in snow, rain and shine. They are every penny worth and also has 5 year 65K warrenty. I have put 20K on it already and tread wear is only down to 9/32".

Thanks for the heads up i was debating on which All-Season tire from Bridgestone: Ecopia EP422 or Dueler H/L 400

I also read revives for Yokohama as they are slightly cheaper compared to Bridgestone and Goodyear, but only to find out that after 14k-15k of use they start to make a lot of noise.

Since you replaced the Dueler H/L 400 with the Ecopia EP422 what are some of the differences that you noticed so far (pro's/con's) if any?

I have to book my appointment by the end of the month so doing a lot of research before i spend $1k (incl. taxes and fitting and disposal)

Thanks in advance!

That's great! I didn't try any of them, i just used Tire Rack reviews, they have twice as many tire reviews as consumer reports. I replaced mine from the beginning with 20' Yokohama EVID ENVigor (high performance All-Season), they are not the best for the winter, but it was hard to find specific size 265/50/20 and there is only 2 weeks of snow here in WA.

I have managed the 6 cars in the family since 1992, they've all come with different OEM tires and between the 6 we're probably talking about 12-18 sets of tires minimum. The best all season tires I have ever had are the Bridgestone Dueler Alenza's (255/55/19). They were OEM on my Sequoia in 20" and replaced the HL 400's with 500 miles on them on the Highlander. They are extremely smooth and have a slightly stiffer sidewall than the HL 400's which leads to great handling.

For winter on the Sequoia (since I run nurses back and forth to the hospital) I have Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2's, stiffer than the Dueler Alenza's but still a quiet ride.

Depends what you're looking for, I wouldn't recommend any others but the above 2, I trust them with my wife and sons life.

I looked all over and the Alenza is not made in the 2011-12 limited size. Where did you get them. I even talked to Tech services at bridgestone to ask.
