Newbie 2009 Highlander owner

Just traded in my 05 Dodge ram hemi pick up for an 09 H-lander. The gas for the pick up was just too much after 4 yrs of never really needing a pick up.

I bought an 09 V-6 blizzard white sport with winter package, Jbl stereo and bluetooth. Really is a nice vehicle. takes a little getting use to after driving a full size pick up for so long but love all the features. Of course the day after I brought it home we had 2 inches of snow in the morning to drive to work in. It handled it well no slipping. Plenty of leg room for someone like me that is 6'2. so far the sun roof is my favorite feature. come on summer.

Welcome to TN! I'm a fairly new owner myself and already love my new HL. There are a lof of resources on here if you have any plans on doing something to the HL.

so far im enjoying the HL's better gas mileage and comfortable ride. I think the V-6 is very smooth and powerful. looking forward to adding an after market rack for hauling my kayak fishing and some vent visors.

I'm really finding this site very useful. I've had my 09 H/L Limited for about a month now. It came with rear DVD player from INVISION (G10 model).
My daughter really enjoys the DVD. The only thing I've not figured out is how the audio (sound from DVD) works. DVD plays but I do not hear any audio. My daughter is only 2yrs and I do not want her to use the wireless headset. Right now, she just watches video with no audio. Can this DVD be programmed to use the H/L's speakers? Does it have built-in speakers(dont see anything that looks like one)?. Also, is it possible to get external speakers just for this DVD? If so, is this something I can get at Best Buy and what kind should I be looking for?
Thanks for your input.

the invision g10 (accroding to its website) has a FM modulator built in, you should be able to audio over FM radio. Unfortunately there is no manual on the website so I have no idea how get it to work, you might need to just play with the menu's and see if you can find it.

You might want to buy an extra eye bolt that can be used for an emergency tow. You have one eye bolt where your tire changing tools are stored. The reason is to have somewhere to connect front tie downs for your kayak. These will save you from having to get on your knees to attach tie down under the frontend. They will also stop the tie down ropes from rubbing on the bumper. Now I just need to remember to buy an extra eyebolt before kayaking season starts. It is also reasonably easy to car top kayaks on a Highlander.

I just read a small booklet from the company. It does have fm modulator built in. I think i need to use menu options to set it to a particular FM station and then tune my fm radio to that station to hear the audio. I will play with that tomorrow. Thanks for your tip.
