gas gauge/MFD

I'm having problems with my MFD and gas gauge. I fill my Highlander up every Friday but occasionally I have to throw a couple of bucks worth of gas in to hold me over. Last week I was low so I put 10 dollars worth of gas, needle didn't move and no KM's were added to the range.. no matter how much gas I put in it it always puts the needle up and adds a few KM's.. I found it strange, so I went back to the gas station and put another 10 to see what it would do, shot up to half? I know $20 does not fill a Highlander from empty to half way but I let it go, there was gas in my tank and I knew I wouldn't run out.

NOW FOR THE MFD, I don't know if it's some sort of computer and it's like all computers but it's slowing down BIG TIME, it takes a good 30 seconds for the back-up camera to engage when it seems like it used to be instant.

Anyone else notice this?

I don't know about the MFD, but my fuel gauge is kinda like that. I will put a full tank in, it will readover F on a full tank. It won't pass the F mark until I'm actually at 3/4 worth of gas. 3/4 a tank on the gauge really means around half. By the time I pass half I'm at a 1/3 a tank left. I filled up at each of those marks to find this out awhile ago. I will be on road trips thinking I'm making great mileage since it hasn't dropped past F yet, then when it does pass its drops like a rock to E. Anyway, I will put in 3-4 gallons and it will go from 1/4 to 3/4 full on the gauge. Makes me think I have a 10 gallon tank at times

I had a similar problem with my 2006 Camry. I put in a bottle of Techron gasoline additive which supposedly dissolves sulfur deposits on the fuel quantity sensor. The problem went away for good after about 30 minutes of driving.
