Picked up my 2012 Sizzling Crimson Mica SE w black interior on Saturday - it replaces a 2009 RAV4. First impressions - WHAT A RIDE...WHAT COMFORT... WHAT A SEXY VEHICLE (the GF thinks so anyways)! I wanted Magnetic Gray but opted for the Sizzling Crimson Mica instead....no regrets! It glistens in the sunlight.
Currently it has: tow prep package, mud guards and all weather mats. It will soon have a hood deflector, window vent shades, a moon roof wind deflector and new horns (a must). Thinking about Blizzak ice/snow tires as well.
Dislikes so far: only one window switch is illuminated and no illumination at all on the mirror adjustment joy stick. Both inconveniences are tolerable though!

As for the horns on your new ride? Here is what I did on my new 2012 HL. First I bought some PIAAs ($40) and wired them up but felt a little weird adding all the new wires to the new car. They sounded OK but nothing really loud just different. So I took them off and replaced them with 2009 Camry horns Low/High that are complete plug and play. They sound like a trumpet horn and do the job ($48 Ebay). Still not real loud but wake people up. The plus side is these Camry horns will not cause the Toyota mechanic on your first service to make a note of it.
If you want loud and don't mind the wiring get the Hella Supertone twin horns with the relay. I have had them on three of my cars and they rock. You have to use the relay to make them super loud and ground to the battery. This is the most bang for the buck that's actually louder.

Thanks for the congrats EVERYONE! I will keep this forum updated with any adventures and/or misadventures that I have with the HiHi!
CHIKAI - I intend to use the AWS/LUND products that I can order at a local AutoZone auto supply chain store nearby. You can order them direct from the manufacturer as well.
DERGARA - thanks for the input. I might just try the Camry horns from the get go.

Thanks...did some research after seeing your thread last night and just purchased the AVS Window Ventvisors on eBay through Autoanything. It was actually cheaper on eBay than on their site.
MikeyD25: The Camry horns sound a lot better and do wake people up. But I will tell you, the Hella Supertones with a relay will really piss some people off, especially if their window is down. LOL

Don't forget the Toyota Premium JDM horn set. They are available on Ebay from a guy in Japan. I bought a set for my 2011 HL and they are a direct Toyota replacement for the factory horns. They mount with the same single bolt and use the OEM wiring harness. Installation time is 15 minutes.
There is a thread on this board which goes into more detail.

Congrats on the new ride mate! I'm still riding the 09 SE Blizzard white but no complains so far
congrats on the new Highlander, I have an 08 in silver and I love it. I hated that crimson colour, but I've seen quite a few around and it's starting to grow on me.. especially the Limited & Sports with the smoked 19's. I'd never buy a new vehicle in anything other than silver, grey, white or black because I keep them too long and I would get tired of anything with a colour (buying a Tacoma that was coloured was a huge step!)
I have the hood deflector, if I could have it differently it would have been that film, but it wasn't available when I bought mine. I put a set of Blizzaks on 17 inch Rav4 steel wheels and I'm going on 3 winters with 2 of them and 1 winter with the ones on the rear, if you have snow they're a must (never been stuck in the snow)

Why a wind deflector? It's not noisy with the sunroof open. If you do get one make sure you check around it regularly for leaves etc otherwise it may cause your drain holes to become blocked.
Agreed on the window switches. Wife's Subie has all of them lit up plus the door and window lock ones too. Toyota's just being lazy I guess.
