HELP! 2008 Sat Receiver Discontinued???

I was supposed to buy (5:00 PM pickup tonight) a 2008 Highlander Limited (non nav) without Sat enabled from a local dealer. I negotiated the install of Sat in the price of the car & the sales guy just called to tell me that the Sat tuner has been discontinued for my 2008 vehicle. I put a ton of miles on my car & am on the phone much of the time for work (I'm a sales guy) so I want my Sat to by completely integrated into the OEM radio and Bluetooth.

Does anyone know of a solution to either locate all of the OEM parts required to add Sat to the 2008 unit or to swap my 2008 head unit out with another Highlander model year that has Sat available?

Thanks in advance,

JJG

to Toyota Nation!

here is the tuner for sale (this), but it still needs a fit kit and I didn't see that for sale on the site. You might try calling the store and seeing if they have it stocked. It might be that the fit kit is what they don't stock/make anymore. You could try and go aftermarket for the tuner/antenna. They tie directly into your stock headunit as long as you have a SAT button on it, from what I understand.

I've found multiple XM & Sirius tuners but no fit kits. Anyone know where I can get a Sat fit kits for a 2008 Highlander Limited (non nav)?

Do you have a AM/SAT button?
If not, get one on ebay or have the dealer swap one for you.

If you do have a AM/SAT button, just get a SIR-TOY1 and a SCC1 Tuner. You don't need a Toyota tuner.
Center the antenna on the back of the car above the third brake light.
I didn't even need to remove the stereo. I accessed the back of the stereo through the hole next to the glove box. You will need to remove the glove box and surrounding trim.

USA I have the factory receiver from my 2008 Highlander Sport with SAT

I still have the factory receiver from my old 2008 Highlander Sport that I replaced with a DVD/NAV unit if you are looking for one. Factory stereo has been sitting inside in the aftermarket unit's box since mid-2009, worked perfect when I swapped it out. PM me if anyone is interested. Thanks, John
