Oil Filter 07 V6

Well, I can't find anything in the Owners Manual about changing the oil filter. There are several pages about the type of oil and checking the oil but I do not see anything about changing the oil or filter. However, it is a cannister type system with a cartridge filter in it.

On the bottom of the canister is a round drain plug that you take off with the end of a 3/8 drive ratchet. The new filter kit comes with a plastic fitting that then pushes up into the cannister (or housing) and you attach a hose to it (before pushing it in) to drain the oil in the cannister. Then you unscrew the cannister or housing (whatever you want to call it) with a filter wrench. I got lucky and the filter wrench I bought for my son's 05 V6 Honda Accord happens to fit this housing. It is one that fits on a 3/8 ratchet. I don't know the size but it fits the stock factory Honda 2005 V6 filter.

The Toyota filter kits come with 2 new "O" rings, one for the drain plug and one for the cannister and the plastic "pipe" for draining the cannister. The Toyota part number is 04152-31090 for the filter.

Also, the owners manual doesn't show anything about checking the transmission fluid either. I haven't had time to look into that yet.
