Just curious to see if anyone is experienced with this. I have a 95.5 Auto tranny Taco, the check engine light has been on for a while. Went to Advanced Auto had them plug it in, said shift solenoid was bad. Any time I am taking off I have to shift down into 1st then to second and then it goes to D itself. Called Toyota, said there are 3 diff solenoids, $166 each. Does anyone know how to tell which one is bad? Heard it was usually #3 that goes bad, how do I tell which is #3? Trying to avoid cost at dealer (labor anyway) by doing it ourselves.
