Gas pump shutting off

Has anyone had the problem with the gas pump shutting off many times when trying to fill your tank?

I've had that as well. In this case, it acts as if it was full. The handle clicks off every 5-10 seconds.

Have you tried a different pump? Or a difference station? If so, same result?

Nothing has changed as far as mechanics. The only other thing I can add would be the check engine and OTC lights are on.

Find out what the DTC codes are - that might help explain it.

There's an explanation of how the gas pump works here:
http://www.wonderquest.com/sleeping-...-hospitals.htm

If the pump keeps shutting off prematurely, then it sounds like gas isn't able to flow into the tank very quickly. That could indicate a problem with the air vent system in the gas tank; as gas goes in, air has to come out.
