Straight pipe or Flowmaster?

Should I get a straight pipe, or a Flowmaster 40 series muffler? Will either choice give me more horsepower and torgue, as well as MPG?

you would probably have a bad headache with a straight pipe...too loud. If you go too big on your exhaust, your 02 sensor won't get enough exhaust past it to read properly and your mileage will suck. I went with a stock audi quattro turbo muffler from a wrecked car. It's pretty loud. 2.5" in and out.

i agree with rogerman. im gonna do 2in from a new cat, to the muffler, then nothing, or 2.5 to get it out the back. but go with the flowmaster. what size engine do you have, because you will also backfire alot with straight pipe, or a cherrybomb, with a 4banger

I have the 3.0L V-6. I have gone with Flowmaster on my past two vehicles, so I'm probably gonna stick with that.
