I was wondering if anyone had gone from the stock tire size on the 87 pickup, which is 29 I think, to a 31. Does this make your GPM suck? Or does it effect how well the truck performs onroad. Thanks, if getting these larger tires means having to redo gear ratios, then I might not do it.

i have 30's on my 1980 (up from 28's) and mine does fine. i have 4.37 gears, i think yours has is a little lower numerically, but i am not sure. mine did not have a noticeable drop in milage. i can still get 20 mpg if i drive it right.

Sweet, thanks, ya, I want the better offroad performance of bigger tires, but I do alot of driving on roads too, so I wanted a mix of both worlds.
