Gearing

Since im only running 29's, and I want 32's or 33's on my truck, I know to keep any power I will probably have to redo my gear ratios. What size are the axles? gears? in my truck. Its an 87 22R 4wd. I see 7.5in and 8.0 in? Which should I get? And what gear ratio would you guys recomend.

4.88 gears, most likely and i think you have your axle sizes right, i know they are 8in in the rear, or 7.8in but us americans like to round up!

Ah, i decided against getting 33's for now, just gonna get some 31 inch Super Swamper LTB's on a set of different wheels so i can use those offroad and switch back to my street tires for normal use, saves gas mileage. Even though gas is only 2 dollars a gallon here, it still sucks to get about 12 mpg with mud tires.

I'm running 33 mud terrains and I get 18mpg with a mix of city/hwy. Still got stock gears but wanting to change to 4.88.
