here's my $0.02 worth of knowledge:
4x2 = dual wheels (2 wheels left side & 2 wheels right side at the rear) Rear wheel drive only.
4x4 = drivetrain system that allows you to deliver power to rear wheels only [2H] or divide power to front and back [4H] flat slippery conditions: or [4L] for uphill or towing or deep mud.
Only select 4L or 4H when necessary, driving on dry/wet roads in 4H/4L does not improve handling and can damage your drivetrain.
Consider why you want 4x4, snow/mud tires and ballast will keep you out of trouble 90% of the time. (98.7% of statistics are made up on the spot
