4 cylinder Supercharger on Tacoma..

Just found out they now make a S/C for the 4 banger.... wanted a V6 with the S/C but gasoline prices are over $2.00/gallon in Cali....

Does anyone have the 4 cylinder Tacoma with the TRD SUPERCHARGER on it?

s/cd 4banger

i dont know too much about the 4 banger s/cs, but im pretty positive that it would be pretty quick in a single cab with a 5 spd. i would GUESS 0-60 times in the low 7s MAYBE high 6s, but dont hold me to that. it would make it VERY fun to drive with sport suspension!

That's exactly what I have been considering...the 4 cylinder single cab and a 5 speed. Originally I wanted a V6 w/the S/C...but gas prices being well over $2.00/gallon here in Cali ----forget it !!!

If the 4 banger Tacoma puts out 142hp stock....and with a Supercharger, figure minimum 35% gain...that would be 191.7 hp. Add on the usual goodies: intake, a good exhaust and a TRD header...at least another 10% gain on a S/C engine....210.8 Horsepower. The truck will weigh approx 2700-2800 lbs. The hardest part would be keeping the tires glued to the pavement. I would venture a guess of "possible" high 14's in the 1/4 mile using slicks. Even a flat 0-60 mph of 6 seconds may be attainable with slicks and a posi-rear end.

Gosh, keep it quiet and stock looking and it's the ultimate SLEEPER TRUCK.

I soooo want to....but, i'm far too practical. I even have a "new truck" fund just waiting to be spent. But, there's nothing wrong with my 93 truck. It purrs like a kitten and has some real cold A/C. Has a Sony CD player too. The original owner (female) put in a new tranny, clutch, and 5 Pirelli tires...so it's good to go for years more. Only have 126k miles now......I change the oil every 5k miles (Mobil 1 synthetic 5W/30) and I have Redline MT90 in the tranny. It's 'JUST ADD GAS'.

My other ride is the Infiniti G20. That's where I have a couple goodies lerking in her. That car is a screamer....and you can't beat the handling....

Getting back to the Tacoma with a S/C...hehehe, eventually I may get one...the truck is going to have to be replaced because it doesn't have airbags and anti-lock brakes, like the Infiniti. That junk comes in handy when your driving around here with the Cali idiots...
