toyota newbie, HELP!

I'm looking at buying a 1987 2.4 turbo 4 runner. I can't find a damb thing anywhere on this vehicle! Any problems to look for or any info you can give me would be great please.

Really? I never heard of a Turbo 4Runner. Is this a diesel?

No it is not diesel, and I think they only made them for 86-87. It says special edition on the rear gate but that is all I really know. I had it towed to my brothers and will begin to work on it tomorrow.
I am a rx-7 guy so this is new stuff to me, I just picked it up for cheap.

The turbo 4banger was to satisfy the masses before the 3.0 V6 was available. It was discontinued as soon as the V6 came out.

It is a 22ret, yes. But guess what?, I got the truck home and inspected it further to find out that when they told me the engine had been replaced, it was replaced with a normal 22re!!
What a pisser, I bought it because of its rarity. I bought it from my dads friend so can't give it back, my fault for not checking closer. Anyway front end damage is more than I can deal with so I will probably sell it and stick with my rx-7's, thanks for your reply's guys.

The fact that it has body damage is a good thing...you don't care if you run it into rocks. Lots of people like the 1st gens because it's still built like a truck, the 22re is bulletproof and the shell is removable. Build it up for off road and wheel it like it was born to do. Checkout my webpage for the fun you can have off road and links to off road boards.
