I have a '84 toyota, 22R that runs like . It ran fine till we took it on a long drive. It would sputter, and black smoke would come out of the exhaust. The engine was rebuilt 8 months ago and it ran fine. But after that long trip, I checked the carb and one of the barrels was blacken and the other looked clean. I disconnected the two small hoses from under the airfilter housing and then it ran at a high idle, but smooth, I plugged the hoses back in, and it ran like it was going to die. Any questions or comments. Thanks for your help!
