I ran into the same problem man. I didn't want to spend alot but knew I wanted a Taco. All the ones I could pay cash for (around 5K) had over 150k miles on them or more. I wanted something to take on trips accross country. If the milage was low the title didn't look good. Either there were 4 or 5 owners, or the truck started out in Texas and landed here in MO via FLorida and Georgia. Or else carfax would report an accident. I recommend you use carfax to research the taco you want, and then take it to a mechanic you trust for him to look at. I was looking at a 2003 Taco until my mechanic said it looked like it had been in a roll over. Evidence of a complete repaint job, the rear bumper was about to fall off. And all this on a "certified" Taco. So be careful picking up an "afordable Taco" I ended up paying more than I wanted too, but got what I wanted and am enjoying it emensely.
