Should I do the deal????
The vehicle:
97 SWB, Reg Cab, 4WD, red/pink metallic (whatever that color is).
5spd 4cyl. 105K.
The asking price:
$3300.
The situation:
This is a repo and the asking price is the remaining lein value. Bank doesn't want anything but that and the vechile OFF their lot.
Body is in good shape. Not an off-roader, or at least not a hardcore off-roader. Trans good, driveline good. 4WD works and seems fine.
Engine has a knock. V. unusual in my experience with Toyota. Replacing the engine will bring the cost to $5800 or less with a 6mo 6000mi warranty on the rebuild job from a local garage known for their work on Japanese vehicles.
Title will ALWAYS show it a repo if memory serves. Is this worth the hassle / investment?
