Problems

I have an 85 pick-up with the 22r. Here is the problem, it was wrecked but fixable. I pulled all the sheetmetal away from the fan(fan not damaged) and restarted it. It runs great but oil is leaking from the front of the engine. I know nothing about these motors so I was wondering if anyone had ideas. Is the water pump (cover) the entire front peice? I would like to fix this truck and I have the skill to fix almost anything it might be but I don't know where to start.

Well, I'd probably start with a new engine. You can pick up the 22r for pretty cheap. How much, where? I have no idea, but I know they are not that expensive. If you decide to total your car and junk yard it or whatever, let me know. I want the front axel!! I'm serious though, I'm really looking for a 85 front axel so please help me out if you decide not to fix the truck.

well around here they go for 800+ for a good start. I worked for a couple of slavage yards and know what it will take for a good motor to get here. sorry but the truck is only 2wd. I wish it was 4x4!! I think its leaking from the head somewhere. I have looked and cleaned and after running for a couple of secs(enuff to build up oil pressure) the front of the head starts to get wet, almost like its coming out of pores...but that is all I have been able to see.
