93 Truck oil light

my '93 4 cylinders' oil light recently came on also accompanied by a clacking sound when shifting gears coming from under the hood! The engine oil/filter has been replaced a few months before this happened, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you do the oil change.......or did a shop?

I checked my mom's oil two weeks after she "had it changed" and didnt get anything on the stick..........this might be your problem.

If so.....learn to change your own oil and never look back!

Well.......you might check your sending unit......also the oil pickup in the pan coulde be bad.......it sounds like it might be sitting at an improler angle and when you hit the gas it comes above the oil level.
