Transmission gears and towing
Does anyone know the gear ratios of the automatic four speed in the Tundra with the 3.92 rear ??
Also, what experience does anyone have on towing with the Tundra, V8 automatic ?? According to the Edmund's Editor report, the Tundra hasn't got the towing ability of a Dodge Dakota with the same size engine.
My plan is to place 900 to 1000 lbs. in the truck bed and atow a trailer weighing 1100 lbs. carrying an additional 900 to 1000 lbs.
Much of this towing will be in the mountains of West Virginia, Virgina and the north east states. Not interstate travel. ANy help will be appreciated. Currently using a V 6 and it doesn't do the job. Any suggestions or comments are welcome. Thanks.
