After Sitting For Months And Months And.....
I've been waiting for an oppurtunity to fix my truck, and this weekend or next it should happen, either replacing the headgasket or cracked cylinder head or my 22-RE. Few questions about some other things though. This has been sitting for 8-9 months, and still has the same tank of gas and same oil. I'm gonna have to drain and change the oil (to fix the engine, and just to the overall amount of time its been sitting).
1- Will just changing the oil be enough to clean out all the old contaminated oil, or is there a additive i need to help flush the old oil out?
2- Syphon the 3/4 of a tank of gas or is there a additive i can add to that so that it can be used?
3- there is a crack on the header when the pipe begins to flow into the exhaust. Can that be welded for now until I can replace it with a new header or complete exhaust system (junk yard)or am i asking for trouble?
Thanks for all your advice. I just got it towed back home today, and it makes me feel better to know that i can look out my window and see my truck as oppose to having it in another town.
