Good hunting!

Without boost, you will have to do it the hard way...LOL

The first step you should do is to ensure your vehicle is in proper tune. Make sure the air filter is clean, tires are at the proper pressure, and the plugs are fresh.

After that:

Your first step is probably the exhaust, from headers through a larger dual setup.

The intake is the second move, with a cone filter, hooked up to a larger diameter throttle body. If you can find a ported intake manifold, go for it.

Possibly larger injectors?

Chip/software upgrade? (Jet had a chip for the 22RE, so someone must have one for the V6.)

There's always NOS...

Get a catalog from Downey (www.downeyoff-road.com), a catalog from NWOR (www.northwestoffroad.com), and take a look at DOA Racing (www.doaracingengines.com). These are probably the best people for performance for your truck.

My truck is like yours but am not sure if yours is 4WD like mine. I chose Downey as my headers people as it seems that the majority, if not all, of the reviews I have read about their headers on the 3VZ gave it a thumbs up for noticeable performance gain. NWOR and PaceSetter also makes a header for the 3VZ too.

As for the exhaust, I decided to go with NWOR's cat-back since it's completely bolt-on, it's stainless steel and has a nice tip to it. If Downey's exhaust was stainless and completely bolt-on, I would have went with theirs but theirs is only aluminum and required welding. BTW, Downey's exhaust is 2.5" while NWOR's is 2.25".

I will be having my throttle body bored out by DOA Racing as this mod seems to be the second most noticeable performance gain right after the headers from what I have read.

I would stay away from K&N's FIPK as the hot air blown away by the fan from the engine goes to the air intake side of the engine bay. Ask me how I know.

As for chips/modules, I was told by DOA Racing to stay away from JET's ECU upgrade or Venom's module.

I also have a Random Technology cat since I gotta support the hometown team.
