On my 1981 SR5 I have a spare residing under the bed hanging from a chain, yet I can't figure out how to relase it. Please help me!

You suppose to have a long rod ,a handle and a hole in your rear bumber.

put the rod in the hole and turn clockwise i think.

On my 1991 4runner i been unable to raise down my spare.
Too much rust and dirt in the mechanism.I did't have the choice to cut the chain.

so i hope you will be able.

good luck
