That is a very cool gift indeed. And while I have nothing against the Rams (as I think they are a nice pickup) I would be remissed if I didn't tout the Japanese engineering most of us have come to love with our Toyotas. As always, Toyotas usually have a higher price tag in the short-term, but we all know which has a better reliablility record, resale value, and with the pictures that follow, well, you tell me which one is simply made better:
The Ram fairs about as nice as the F150 (Don't be that guy)
I wonder if your dad would be as impressed with the $10k savings if he saw these. Not trying to put a damper on things by any stretch, but since this is a Toyota board after all, well, gotta throw in some things.
Wow with all the options you wanted it was only 30 grand!!
And all for a christmas gift before you can even drive, thats not being lucky-its called being spoiled rotten
Sorry I'm a little bitter,I work my ass off to buy the things I need to live, you know mortgage, taxes, heat, hydro, food, truck payments, gas and insurance and on and on and some 15 year old has to tell me how lovely it was for his parents to give him a loaded up truck for his christmas gift-wonder who's gonna put gas in that hemi pig-insurance premiums?.
I'm glad to hear that at least you work, you'll find out pretty quick how far your gas money will take you versus how many hours you had to work to go that far.I don't have a problem if the right kind of person is fortunate enough to be born into a situation of getting nice things easily-just can't stand arrogant punks that get everything handed to them and think their god.
Enjoy your new truck,if your looking for an older brother I'm ready for a new truck too!
hey man nice truck, i just want to know(if you've driven it), if the hemi is all that great, not to offend anyone, but i just want to know from a hemi owner how the performance is
I just dont understand what runs through the minds of parents when they buy their teen a fast car or a big truck that is obviously way too big for them. Why would a teen need a full sized hemi powered truck? To tote around his trailer with the race car or horses? Mini yacht? Dozen kegs of beer to the beach party?
Not saying anybody isnt responsible but I think its important that someone gains some experience before they step into a car with a lot of power or a truck that has a lot of power and of course that is montrous compared to most everything else on the road.
My stepdad gave me a car after making a deal with him that I would maintain it myself, pay for the gas, etc. It was a used 79 Capri that was a blast to drive even though it didnt have the 5 liter v8. If it did I probably wouldnt be alive today to talk about it. I know someone that lost his son after his numerous wrecks.. including one in a brand new Ferrari. It was just a matter of time before it caught up with him.
Spoiled? Yeah Id say. But I think all (or most) parents try to spoil us the best they can. I dont think that is the important thing here though, but rather the fact of someone driving something with power that has no experience. There are way too many idiots and no brainers with licenses, we dont need to fuel the numbers with kids with big toys. No offense to you but I dont think your folks gave it too much thought.
whoa....30 grand american...dude they couldve bought you a used car and then gave one hell of a downpayment on a house... oh but they'll probably get you one next christmas...sorry but I am trying to figure out how to squeeze all the power I can from a Toyota and my hands are greasy, bruised and bloody from turning wrenches "metric" wrenches......I hope you don't miss out on the rewards life can give you through hard work..by the way this may sound really rude but...this is a toyota forum...f**k your ram....anybody can solve a power problem in a vehicle by throwing gas at it....dodge needs to buy some better engineers.
Engineer#1 " hey didn't we have a super cool car once"
Engineer#2 "oh yeah the hemi....I bet if we brought it back and put it in a truck all those dudes who used to want one would buy our trucks..."
Engineer#1 "man midlife crisis's are a bitch"
By the way... I passed a sunken dodge in waiporous this last summer...man those v8's are heavy...lol
