If you have never replaced the belt (or belts) now may be a good time to do so. Most belts are easily replaced. There is a bolt that you loosen at the idler pulley (pulley where the non-ribbed part of the belt touches.....you'll likely have two idler pulleys) and the belt should slide right off. Install the new belt according to the belt diagram......if you do not follow this diagram, your engine will likely overheat. Re-tighten the bolt on the idler pulley to the exact same spot. Some people use a belt tensioner and set the tension this way, but the former works for me.
If you have the FSM for your vehicle, look it up there for more help. Also try the owners manual (although, these are usually not much help).
