tacoma trans filter?

I have a 2001 Tacoma. Can you guys tell me if it has a transmision filter that needs to be replaced and if so how often? I tried to get a haynes manual for it but they only have them up to 2000. wonder why that is? Anyway any help would be nice.

How many miles does it have? Most Toyotas I've seen have a drain plug on the transmission pan. Unless it has a bunch of miles I'd drain and refill about 3 times maybe a month apart. This should clean up your transmission without dropping the pan.

oh yea it only has about 55,000 miles

As long as you don't have other problems such as burnt fluid etc, this should work fine for your vehicle.

Does anybody know where I can get my hands on a Hanynes manual for a 2001 tacoma. I have tried the parts stores and they only have them up to 2000.
