Won't crank hot intermittently

Got a '86 4runner about 6 months ago. Runs great, but after driving long distances or short on/off errands, it won't start/crank. Getting low voltage to starter solenoid. Checked and replaced solenoid contacts, replaced open circuit relay and replaced neutral safety switch. Still have intermittent problem. Any ideas where else to look.

I'd wire in an extra relay myself. It'd be a lot easier than running down the weak connection. Get a heavy duty relay from a stereo shop and wire something like this;

....................ignition wire currently going to starter
................................................|
...battery wire at starter--no connection--ignition terminal of starter
................................................|
...........................................ground

buy here

Thanks for the post. Actually I have it rigged right now with a hot wire switch. I have a wire from + battery post to push botton switch on dash and back to starter solenoid. When it doesn't start I just leave the key ON and push the button. However, I have been determined to track down the real problem.
