Rav 4 problem

Hi guys I am new and I hope you can help me. My Rav 4 stalls every time I go into 2nd gear or third or 4th. Car has manual tranny. At the same time the Check engine light is on. I have replaced a computer but that didnt cure the problem.

Thank You!!!

NO, all 96' RAV4 have the 2.0 3SFE engine. The 5SFE is the 2.2 used in Camry. Check the intake filter or the electrical system. Manly the ignition rotor, Gas Filter. Check also that the Gas Cap is ajusted properly. Also, take this problem to http://www.RAV4world.com
Thier are a lot of guys that can help.
