Just wanted to know the best performance mods for a semi-new tacoma, other than supercharger or headers. Something relatively small in price but noticable in performance. I was think of spark plugs and spark plug wires? any ideas for type brands to get? any help would b appreciated thanks. peace

Thumbs up

If you want some extra juice to those wheels and a little chriping I say go with the LC Engineering light weight flywheel I think it is around 8 lbs or so. And Bosch plugs are just as good if not better. Go with a K & N intake system and a good cat back exhaust Flowmaster or TRD.

I've had the Bosch plugs and I found that they hurt me more then anything else.

As so for syn oils, it shouldn't be a problem, I've used it in all my rigs, newest I had was a 93, never had any oil leaks or problems. The people who say its bad for your rig are full of it.

It takes for ever to break down, so it last longer and it is easyer on your motor, and its lighter.

I have not run synthetic in any of my four wheeled transportations, but I run Mobil 1 in my bike. It is easier to start in the cold and is far superior in protection.

Keep in mind, oil filter should still be changed every 3000 miles, although the oil can be good for about 5-6000 miles. Oil leaks are an issue, but do not create leaks- it only runs easier from existing leaks. Don't use it in a leaky engine.

Also, do not use in a new engine, as in still in the break-in period. Rings will not seat while you run synthetic, so your compression sucks and the engine never runs properly.

As for syn gear oil, I have no opinion having never used it. I am looking into it as we hit -57 degrees this winter and I found the tranny just did not want to move much. I'd like the superior true viscosity you get with synthetic.
