Question Fixing Headgasket and having problems,

Ok, my yota truck (22re) blew the headgasket the other day, and i put a new one in (what a PITA) put back on the Intake, rotor and every thing, turn the key and just turns but doesnt try to start.
Things im sure of

1. The rotor was set to fire on cyclinder one, its at TDC and the cam timing is corect.

2. pretty sure all the vacuum lines are hooked up correctly.

3.) the gasket was torqued to 58ft/lbs

4.) i changed the fuel filter (what a poor location )

Any help would be appreciated, help me get my beater running again

make sure the cylinder injectors are firing. Pull a plug, disconnect the coil and crank the engine. You should get some fuel coming out of the plug hole on the compression stroke. Then put the plug in the wire boot, hold the plug to the head with insulated pliers or something and crank it. You should have spark. If you have fuel and spark (at the right time) then it should fire unless you have some thing else totally whacked. Recheck cam timing, recheck distributer timing. Check your all the electrical connections for things like tps, afm, temp sensors, etc.

Did you hook the air box back up before trying to start it?
