LC Engineering Header

Hey...I'm wondering if anyone here has installed an LC Engineering header on their 22RE truck. I've had my truck for three years and no problems, but now I get a Check Engine light that reports back EGR system. I have replaced EVERY component, checked the vac hoses, even plugged in a new computer. This light showed up two days after installing the header...and there was nothing EGR related to do the install.

Has anyone else installed one of these headers...any ideas? The header is the only thing I can think of at this point...too coincidental.

thanks,
-Mascot

Re: LC Engineering Header

No, but personally I would install the Doug Thorley header it is just as good if not better. Plus they have been around a lot longer and you can get it cermaic coated. LC Engineering makes sweet stuff but it is very over priced. I think you might have to take it in to have it checked. From my personal experience I think it might be just a ghost reading (nothing to worry about) since you have already done everything you can do. Sorry, I was no help.

thanks. I had thought about the Thorley because I have one on my Corona and I love it. They don't list one for the 89 -> trucks though. I already have the header, so to get a Thorley would be out of my limit $$ wise. I've had it to the dealer and they told me to replace the EGR VSV, I did, still had the light. So I checked the VSV they said was faulty and it wasn't faulty at all. I'm trying everything I can think of and the dealers are no help whatsoever. (and you thought you didn't help! )

thanks...

I didn't really help, the Throley can and will work for your truck. Hell, they don't even make one for my year a 92 and they said any year that fits that design will work. I gave them a call and said in 92 they were having some difficulties with other stuff so that is why they didn't make one my year. Oh, well! But if you have $500 definitely get one ceramic coated a lot cooler on the hands.
