How good is the Clinometer?

Being a Canadian and as the Clinometer was not available in Canada, I've never actually seen one and don't know anyone with one. Are they functional, and should I look into getting one if I get serious about off-roading?

Those factory inclinometers look nice, but are bulky and functional only to a point, in that they only go to 30 degrees. 30 degrees is quite safe. Over 30 is when the stakes get bigger. There is the other train of thought on these that you probably shouldn't be looking at them on the real off-camber stuff (35+), though I think it would probably depend on the situation.

I might suggest the smaller, yet more useful Lev-O-Gages. They run about $10 apiece.
