94 22re No Spark

I have 94 Toyota p/u 22re motor that won't start. It'll turn over, but won't fire. I tried a new coil, no luck. I tried new cap, rotor, wires and I even got a used igniter from a wrecker, and still no spark. Anybody have any ideas? It's raining out here and I'm getting sick of riding my motorcycle to work. Any ideas are appreciated.

Mitch

There is a small pickup-coil in the disributor that can fail. It is the electrical device that the four-tooth cam swings past. The ignitor takes this small signal from the pickup-coil (also called a signal generator), and generates a 12V signal to be sent to the coil. A multimeter cab be used to see if the pickup is within specs. I do not know the Ohm reading you need but you can check a typical Chilton's manual for this.

Unhappy

Consider yourself lucky to be able to ride your motorcycle now. I still have 3 feet of snow to melt before I can ride. The last time I rode was November...

Thanks for the tip.
My friend had me turn the ignition while the distributor cap was off, and the rotor didn't turn. I pulled the distributor and the shaft was okay, telling me that there is a much more serious problem, like a broken timing chain or camshaft. I'll let you know how it goes when I take a look inside.

By the way, I'm stoked to be riding my moto, but I'd have even more fun on a snow-mo.
