help with alt bracket

im trying to put an 87 4runner 22re back together. i need help with where the alt. adjuster bracket goes. ive been trying for hours and even looked at another. any help is appereciated

I had the same problem when I did my timing chain....took me awhile to figure it out. I found a pic that might help you out:



You can see the adjuster is just flipped up out of the way. This might help you...I will try to see if I have any pictures of my teardown...

Where does the bracket mout too? I know you have a long bolt on the bottem, but isn't there another bracket that attaches to the adjustor. I just installed a new short block and a friend of mine is the one who torn the motor down. He live 3hrs away, so it's not like he could just come over and show me where it goes. I would attach the pic of the bracket, but the site won't let me

That bracket is for the power steering pump.
