Alarm system?

This might be a dumb question, but do the new Toyota's come with alarm systems. My wife and I were under the impression that they did when we bought our 03' Tacoma double cab. When I mess with the truck though I can't get the alarm to go off. I know it has a panic button, but for what I paid for this truck it should have an alarm. If it does have one, then why can't I get it to go off.

It doesn't have an alarm it is just keyless entry, which is basically standard.

The security system works with the keyless entry and plugs right in the truck. I will admit I haven't got around to acquiring and putting mine in yet. You should be able to find one cheaper than this.
