90 Runner - new rear wiper motor source?

Hi Gang,

Well the rear wiper motor on my 1990 4Runner has died, and when I went to the dealer the cost is $477 for a new one!!! (Canadian). Does anyone know of a less expensive source? I called a few wreckers and they say they're in high demand and hard to get.

I don't know if it is the same motor, but I do know that there are a few first generation sitting out in the yard at Team Automotive here in Winnipeg. It is a wrecker, about the only one that buys up Toyota trucks and 4Runners (which makes it hard to find parts). I'd say give them a call. Their phone number is (204)222-7333, call them and see. They are a good bunch of guys, I deal with them a fair bit.

ps - stupid me said rear "wiper" motor, when it's really the rear power window motor that's gone. hee hee! anyhoo, same difference, if they have some of the 1990 to 1995 4Runners they may have one.

hey my uncle has a 92 4 runner that has been rolled.

The tailgate is in pretty good condition, so im guessin the motor shoud be too.......its in scarborough is that far from you?

im not sure what he wants to sell or what he is keeping for his truck.

I need the rear power window motor mostly. If he's willing to sell more parts off of it I'd be interested.
